Personal letter of thanks from Wendy.
"I wanted to include this thankyou page on my website to show my gratitude to
so many wonderful people. Out of the goodness of their hearts these people have
and continue to donate time, talents, money and organising/taking part in fund
raising events to help me pay for last chance treatments to cure my disease.
My family and I have been over whelmed and so touched by the way that you
have all been so generous. There are so many people to thank that I hope you
understand I cannot verbally thank you all personally and there are many, many
people I don't even know, as your donations have been anonymous.
At first I found it very difficult to accept the donations without feeling
embarrassed and guilty but as Guy - my husband - put it people are helping out
of love. They are unable to help me physically fight the disease but feel they
can help by raising money for the treatment. After Guy's words, I am now
accepting that you are giving because you want to and for that I am so very
grateful.
When I was young and growing up, I was a member of the Oldham Theatre
Workshop and appeared in the production "Bugsy Malone". The final scene of the
show involved all the cast walking around the stage covered in custard pies and
cream from the "splurge" guns, shaking hands with each other and singing the
words
"You give a little love and it all comes back to you, you know your gonna be
remembered for the things that you say and do"
At the time I didn't really think about the words to that song but now, I
find them quite appropriate. Love is what YOU have all shown and you are going
to be remembered for it. Not only by me but by my family and in time, by my four
year old son, who will be told about the wonderful way you have helped give his
mummy a chance to fight to be around and continue to be his "mummy" for as long
as possible".
Heartfelt thanks and very much love.
Wendy
